BVS AMSTERDAM A Few lessons learnt...........
Lesson 1.... Not all of you know each other Lesson 2 ....Drinking in Amsterdam is expensive Lesson 3 ... A Free bar in a night club is lethal 6 couples made it to the DAM and another couple met up with us on the Friday from the Netherlands who hope to come along to BVS . Out of the six , two couples were struck down with illness on the Saturday and were unable to make it to the club (not drink or drug induced by the way) this included ourselves unfortunately. We are really sorry we were unable to attend Fata's again ourselves especially as we've been looking forward to it all year. (words cannot describe Gaz's disappointment) and don't rubb in the great food as he got a Mc Donald's that night!!! Lesson 1 Us not being able to attend wouldn't have been so much of a problem if everyone had known each other, but as we found out at the airport with two groups arriving separately, all eight had unknowingly walked passed each other several times in the club. Lesson 2 In Amsterdam drugs are cheap and loads of people would like you to meet a guy called "Charlie".....But when you ask to meet Jack Daniels you get charged a fiver a swallow!!! Lesson 3 After being charged a fiver a time to see Mr J Daniels its easy to try and get to know all the names of the drinks at the free bars in FATAs ( thinking H and K here) H and K from what we heard you didn't deserve to look so good on Sunday. All that said it was our first attempt at a foreign outing for members and we have learned more than the three lessons above if we attempt something in future........ A and A you girls were looking great regardless of your session in Teasers on the Danrak (you looked far better than the staff there) Pitty we only managed to get a hug at the airport on the way home....... CASTLE EVENTTARTAN DOO 2 24th January 09Murder Mystery single night 23rd January09 Accommodation is now fully booked for the Tartan Doo and as expected is looking to become the event of the year. We have been asked several times for more specific details of the venue to allow booking of accommodation but feel we cant reveal the specifics until a deposit is paid. As the Castle venue has been the most expensive to arrange and likely to be one of the most prestigious events so far for BVS we must protect its anonymity as much as possible. When deposit is paid we provide a list of accommodation in the immediate area.
Unlike the Tartan Doo the Friday murder mystery event has been slow to attract people . This is disappointing as we were asked to do something more for singles and couples who enjoy more singles attention!!! SO GET OUT THERE AND TELL THEM We will still keep the equal ratios of male and female unless we receive particular requests from couples for more males.
Venues Although we have several venues in the pipeline we are always searching for suitable venues for events. If you know a venue which you feel may be suitable for a BVS party please let us know. The venue must have that certain BVS ambience you all expect and deserve be available for parties of between 30 and 100 guests, and have overnight sleeping accommodation for a min of 10.

Questions and Answers Here are some answers to questions we have been asked Why cant BVS hold events
in a less expensive venues? We assess venues on many aspects other than cost. Venues must have privacy, no restrictions on noise, versatile floor coverings, no live in caretakers, be available for larger numbers beyond that of accommodation levels, have an appropriate ambience and have suitable areas for both play and the social aspects of the parties. The cost for such venues are out of our control..... with smaller venues the costs for smaller numbers of individuals to attend can be prohibitive and the mix of people can be more critical for success than at larger events...... Why don't you lower the cost and have a BAR ? Introducing a bar to generate income again would be costly for members .. This would require a temporary drinks license including inspection of each venue, scrutiny and publicity of the events. From the experience of attending socials where the venue makes its money over the bar we feel its more important for members to set their own limits on cost and not by looking at their empty wallet at the end of an evening..... When will an event be held in our area? This is totally dependant on the venues but we are looking harder in the Strathclyde and west coast areas where many of you live. We do stress however that the events are worth traveling for as many of you have done for clubs down south. Why cant we have more regular scheduled events? Unfortunately we operate BVS part time and devote as much of that time as we can after work and family. We organise as many events as we feel would be well attended and as membership builds we hope to provide more events. For BVS maximum attendance to events is critical to cover costs. Loss of income from a couple of failed events would force us to shut down and we therefore can only run an event where we feel we will at least cover the cost of organisation . HOW CAN WE HELP? Just let others know about BVS and that there is alternative to clubs available in Scotland. If you've been to an event you will know personally who would be a suitable candidate to be a BVS member. Let them know about events and how to become a member. The more members we gain the more events we can hold and finally we will have something to shout about in the adult scene in Scotland. If you can...... e mail couples on your favorite sites you'd like to meet and suggest coming along to a BVS event. That way neither you or the other couple need be disappointed if you don't hit it off as there will be plenty others to get to know.........
